Decorate your desktop for any occasion

One way to get into any festive mood is to decorate your Mac desktop with an appropriate theme.

Usually this involves downloading wallpapers, icons and screensavers related to a specific season but MacLampsX allows you to fully decorate your Mac's desktop according to the season. If you don't like risking being electrocuted by dodgy Christmas lights etc MacLampsX allows you to decorate your desktop with festive light bulbs in different styles.

Once you've surrounded your desktop with lights, you can set a themed wallpaper and screensaver too. There's a choice of around 40 different light bulbs although it has to be said, most of them are based on the Christmas theme. However there are other decorations more appropriate for other holidays such as Easter and Halloween and if the default selection isn't enough, you can download different styles from the developer website. You can even create your own.

I liked the way that you can adjust the speed of the light flashes and you can also choose whether they appear over or below folders and application windows or just on your desktop. However, I couldn't get either the music or the screensaver to work at all.

MacLampsX is a fun application for decorating your desktop with different kinds of festive lights.

In Softonic we scan all the files hosted on our platform to assess and avoid any potential harm for your device. Our team performs checks each time a new file is uploaded and periodically reviews files to confirm or update their status. This comprehensive process allows us to set a status for any downloadable file as follows:

Clean

It’s extremely likely that this software program is clean.

What does this mean?

We have scanned the file and URLs associated with this software program in more than 50 of the world's leading antivirus services; no possible threat has been detected.

Warning

This software program is potentially malicious or may contain unwanted bundled software.

Why is the software program still available?

Based on our scan system, we have determined that these flags are possibly false positives.

What is a false positive?

It means a benign program is wrongfully flagged as malicious due to an overly broad detection signature or algorithm used in an antivirus program.

We’d like to highlight that from time to time, we may miss a potentially malicious software program. To continue promising you a malware-free catalog of programs and apps, our team has integrated a Report Software feature in every catalog page that loops your feedback back to us.
